National Cancer Institute (NCI)
Cancer Information Service

Provides free, accurate, evidence-based information and professional assistance to help support the immediate and long-term needs of people trying to quit smoking.

American Cancer Society (ACS)
ACS helps people learn about the health hazards of smoking and how to become ex-smokers. Its programs include “The Great American Smokeout®” in November and the Cancer Crusade every April. It also has many booklets and other information that can help.

American Heart Association (AHA)
AHA makes books, tapes and videos about the effects of smoking on the heart. AHA has also written a guidebook on weight control in quit-smoking programs.

American Lung Association (ALA)
ALA helps smokers who want to quit through its Freedom from Smoking®
self-help quit-smoking program. ALA actively supports laws and information campaigns for non-smokers’ rights. It also gives public information programs about the health effects of smoking.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) is the government’s lead agency on smoking control. OSH funds booklets on topics, such as relapse, helping a friend or family member quit smoking, the health hazards of smoking and the effects of parental smoking on teenagers.

NIH is one of the world's foremost medical research centers. NIH is an agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services. ALF promotes tobacco-free generations and its vision vision is to become the preeminent authority in tobacco prevention by funding cutting edge research, marketing and education programs. They are committed to “ building a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit.” They maintain a comprehensive tobacco document library and as part of the National Alliance of Tobacco Cessation developed the Become an EX® on-line smoking cessation program and guide book.

Don’t Pass Gas
This public service health campaign from Legacy and the Ad Council is designed to educate Americans -- especially parents -- about the dangers of secondhand smoke and to motivate them to create smoke-free environments for their families.

The Sunny Side of Truth
American Legacy Foundation’s tobacco education campaign covers cigarettes, smoking and other tobacco products as it uncovers " the truth about how the cigarette industry operates". This youth oriented site includes; facts, videos, games and downloads.

Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation (OTPF)
The OTPF was created by the Ohio General Assembly from a portion of its Master Settlement monies. They’re charged with the mission to reduce and prevent tobacco use by Ohioans. OTPF places an emphasis on youth, minorities, regional populations, pregnant women and others who may be disproportionally affected by tobacco use. The majority of their work falls into three area’s: community grants, counter-marketing and the Ohio Tobacco Quit Line.

Helping Young Smokers Quit is a national program supported by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Cancer Institute. Program direction and technical assistance are provided by the  Institute for Health Research and Policy at the  University of Illinois at Chicago.

Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids
The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is a leader in the fight to reduce tobacco use and its devastating consequences in the United States and around the world. By changing public attitudes and public policies on tobacco, they strive to prevent kids from smoking, help smokers quit and protect everyone from secondhand smoke. One of their events is Kick Butts Day; a national day of activism that empowers youth to speak up and take action against tobacco use at more than 2,000 events from coast to coast.

The Tobacco Public Policy Center at Capitol University Law School is a legal resource center for Ohio’s tobacco control community, policymakers, and legal professionals. They focus on tobacco in the workplace, smoke-free housing and other legal issues surrounding tobacco use and exposure.

National Latino Council on Alcohol and Tobacco Prevention (LCAT)
LCAT is unique since it is the only Latino national organization dedicated solely to reducing the harm caused by alcohol and tobacco in the Latino community through research, advocacy, policy analysis, community education, training and information dissemination.
